Residential property taxes vs. Commercial
If Residential property taxes are frozen (currently at 7.2%), what would happen if, as a solution, we froze business property taxes at a similar 7.2%? Would the jobs it created and the companies it brought into Colorado offset the tax losses?
One problem with that approach, how long does it take for companies to start moving to Colorado to offset that loss. Currently business property taxes are disperate all across the state, some areas paying nearly 50% on their assessment if I'm not mistaken.
